WPMN AdMa Workshop: Refining Risk Governance for Advanced Materials
Date and Time: April 1, 2025, 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM CET
Location: Online
This is an invitation-only event.
The Steering Group on Advanced Materials (SG AdMa) under the OECD’s Working Party on Manufactured Nanomaterials (WPMN) is pleased to announce a collaborative workshop.
The Early Awareness and Action System for Advanced Materials (Early4AdMa) serves as a vital anticipatory risk governance tool, enabling early identification of safety, sustainability, and regulatory concerns associated with advanced materials. This workshop offers a platform for experts to exchange insights and further refine Tier 1 process, its practical applicability and effectiveness.
Objectives
The primary objectives of the workshop are:
To review and identify improvements for Tier 1 of the Early4AdMa system.
To incorporate elements of the SUNSHINE/SUNRISE foresight framework and the HARMLESS Early Warning System (EWS) into Early4AdMa.
To develop actionable recommendations for advancing the system's effectiveness.
Topics
Participants will engage in fruitful discussions on these following themes:
The structure and operational principles of Tier 1 within Early4AdMa.
The SUNSHINE/SUNRISE foresight framework for horizon scanning in a trusted environment.
The HARMLESS Early Warning System for the pre-assessment of advanced materials.
Methods to align and integrate tools and frameworks to strengthen Early4AdMa.
Breakout sessions and hands-on exercises will provide practical insights into these tools, enhancing their applicability to regulatory and safety needs.
